Noted writer Ekow Eshun leads a special discussion presented by the Barbican and Ace Hotel London addressing conceptions of black masculinity

A special event at Ace Hotel London led by writer, cultural commentator and award-winning broadcaster Ekow Eshun that takes a closer look – on both sides of the Atlantic from the 80s to present day – at the perception of black men in the media, masculinity through a feminist lens and the need for safe spaces for young black men.

Ekow will be joined by UAL Chair of Contemporary Art and Urbanism & Director of the Transnational Art, Identity and Nation Research Centre Professor Paul Goodwin and writer, broadcaster, barrister & human rights development worker Afua Hirsch.
